The Onion Paywall

Gawker reported in August 2011, that the Onion was instituting a paywall that would only affect “dirty foreigners”.

Well here is what the paywall looks like: (in India at least)

The Onion has in the past poked at the New York Times’s Paywall.

At $2.95 a month, that works out to $35.40. If paid annually, the price paid is $29.95, so you save $5.45 or about 15%. However, the question remains will people pay for satire. If I need good news, I will gladly pay for the New York Times or Wall Street Journal. But with The Onion being hit or miss/is it really that funny?, would people pay?
